The goal of the Committee is to evaluate the current programs of the Department, suggest measures which might improve the ability of the Department to attract undergraduate and graduate students, and offer insight into the direction which civil engineering will take in the next five to ten years. It is hoped that the widely varied backgrounds and practices of the members will provide fresh insight on the Department's efforts to grow, without sacrificing its commitment to excellence, its research orientation, and the close relationship between faculty and students.
