Senior Design Students win $25,000
The Civil Engineering Design Class (taught by Dr. Ed Zhou, as part of a
team assembled by Randy Sovich, Architect that included Morgan State
architecture professors and students, and several professional engineering
firms) received $25,000 as one of the four finalists in the Western
Maryland Welcome Center Design Competition sponsored by Congressman Roscoe
Bartlett (6th District). The design of the building for the I-270
Byron Overlook south of Fredrick, MD required "green
engineering" as the facility had to have a low environmental impact.
