Full Scale Measurements On The
Kern P. Pitts Center

Computer

The data acquisition system is Pentium (133) PC based. The PC is outfitted with a Keithley Metrabyte DAS 1402 and one EXP 1600 expansion module. The PC runs Labtech Notebookpro and PCAnywhere software packages for data collection and remote control. Currently the system is configured to continuously monitor and record summary statistics on all transducers. This allows for the long term monitoring of both the site conditions and transducer performance. When predetermined threshold values are exceeded the monitoring mode is temporarily shut down and a 10-minute "trigger" run is performed. Each trigger run samples all channels at 25 Hz (we are using 4 pole Bessel filters set at 10 Hz). Before and after each trigger run a one-minute shunt calibration on all of the pressure sensors is performed. During these calibration runs, any water that has been collected at the water collection points (applicable to roof transducers) is drained.
