Baltimore is served by the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airport and Amtrak (rail).  Alternative airports are Newark (NJ) International, connecting easily by rail (2 hrs or so on Amtrak to Baltimore’s Penn Station) or Washington’s Reagan Airport (1 hr by MARC from Union Station).  Note that Dulles Airport in Washington is difficult to use without a car.  (There is no convenient mass transport still--apparently we don’t believe in it.)
