Welcome to the Topology Optimization Group at Johns Hopkins University!

We are a group of talented and motivated individuals pushing the frontiers of Topology Optimization...

Check out JHU Engineering Magazine for a short feature on 3D woven lattices designed, fabricated, and tested by Professors Guest, Weihs, and Hemker.

The Topology Optimization Group is happy to welcome Reza Behrou (Postdoc), Julia Carroll (PhD Student), and Yan Lui (Undergraduate) to the TO team!

Research by Prof. Guest, Prof. Hemker, and Prof. Weihs was recently showcased at DARPA’s Pentagon Demo Day.  See here for additional information about Demo Day.

Graduate students Saranthip Koh, Misha Osanov, and Hak Yong Lee together with Prof. Guest participated in the St. Paul’s School K-4 Science Fair.  The students were able to design bridges and buildings using topology optimization software and witnessed the group’s 3D printer in action!

Congrats to Mikhail Osanov whose cube sat design was selected as Finalist for the Stratasys CubeSat Challenge!

Congratulations to Prof. Guest who was recently featured in WSE Magazine for his recent EMI Leonardo da Vinci Award and for his work on metallic lattices.
